  Bread & Weight Loss

The Yeast in your body craves flour and sugar. Period.

If you've ever felt like you'd just as soon sit down with a loaf of fresh bread and a tub of butter and/or jam, I can tell you two things: you probably have a yeast infestation, and you probably have an allergy to sugar and flour, brought about by over consumption called for by the Beast.

If you do nothing else to lose weight, swear off bread, particularly when combined with sugar.

Read about it in my book, Beauty and the Yeast Beast: from Fat to Fairy Tale.

Francine, The Candida Queen says, "I was a diet champion over and over for 40 years and have been on many diets, all of which let me down in the long run - as I'm sure you've felt let down by one or two of your diets. Phasing Into Beauty explains why diets fail and why many people cannot face the Beauty and the Yeast Beast diet, and provides a three phase program which will work with any diet."

The effective use of Prebiotics makes fertile ground for the probiotic to establish itself, so the effectiveness of the probiotic treatment works in a timely fashion as to deliver greater benefit to the body fighting Candida at the same time. Sugar Starch and Flour reduction effectively functions as a Preantifungal, starting the weight loss process when combined with the Candida Queen's Prebiotic/Antifungal Balancing.

There always seems to be one or two pups in the litter that just can't get enough - the little piglet puppies. They want the most, and they want the best. Amongst microorganisms in the body, Candida Yeast Beast is the piggiest of the litter.

Candida Yeast's only function is to grow more Candida yeast. You can do a lot when you only have one objective, and you hide well.

The Candida Yeast infection makes a tremendous craving for what it needs - flour and sugar - and at the same time make you fatter, creating more territory for suburbs. The rotten little beast wants you fatter!

If you are trying to lose weight and keep it off, you must get the Candida under control. Losing weight without Candida control results in weight gain following the end of your diet; it usually also prevents you from losing weight down to your goal.

Unwilling, uncontrollable weight gain combined with years of yo-yo dieting is a brutality that is suffered in silence, I know what you are living with, I suffered this brutality in silence my whole life. Complex Carbohydrates
& Weight Loss

A recent study says Americans are getting fatter thanks to an increase in their consumption of refined, processed carbohydrates. Whole grains and carbohydrates with a low glycemic index are far better for you than refined carbohydrates like white flour and refined white sugar.

The Food Guide Pyramid puts grains, breads and other carbohydrates as the eat most category of foods. That leads most people to falsely believe that eating a dozen doughnuts is keeping them in full compliance with the food guide pyramid, since doughnuts are technically breads and grains.

Good carbs provide sustained energy and can definitely be part of a healthy, balanced diet: fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, whole grains, brown rice, and so on.

Bad carbs include all refined carbohydrates: basically, anything that's been milled and stripped of its original, natural elements such as fiber, healthy oils, vitamins and minerals. All white flour is nutritionally deadly. Really. White flour kills you. Whole wheat grains contain important minerals like magnesium, healthy oils like vitamin E, health-enhancing insoluble fiber, and a long list of important vitamins. Virtually all of these are stripped out during processing.

Nothing will stop weight loss and keep you from ever reaching your weight loss
goals more than bread and other refined flour products.

Complex Carbohrdyates
& Obesity

Research shows that people who are overweight do not appear to eat more carbohydrates overall than people who weigh less; However, they found that overweight people tend to eat more refined carbohydrates, such as white bread and pasta. Refined carbohydrates are often found in processed foods that contain a lot of sugar. This type of carbohydrate has what's called a high glycemic index, meaning it causes a rapid increase in blood sugar. The body stores that sugar in muscle, but if it is not used, it becomes fat.

Eating to Live Weight Loss

Are you eating to live, or living to eat??

We are conditioned to eat three meals a day and snack in between. Even our weight loss diets prescribe three squares plus a few extra corners.

I know living to eat. If you are thinking about what to make for a next meal, or what to snack on, and you're not hungry, you are living to eat. Feeling like having something to eat is not hunger; I think sometimes we believe our sensation of desire for food is hunger.

I'm not advocating severe low caloric content dieting, starvation levels under 900 calories a day, or any other torture. In fact, I advocate eating all day. If you eat a handful of cereal, or a handful of blueberries or tomatoes when you're hungry - and then go do something, anything but look at an empty plate or the fridge, you will be satisfied; you can eat like that all day in a grazing fashion, never be hungry, and not overeat.

The trick is to feed your body what it needs, not what your mind wants. Your body will tell you. You know when it's 103 degrees and you've been carrying boxes, your body tells you it wants water. If you learn to listen to your body, it will actually hunger for specific nutrients. I almost never eat bananas. But once in a blue moon I want one; it's my body saying pass the potassium.

I didn't say this would be easy, at least not at first. Getting off the idea of three squares plus is a hurdle. But I found that once I chose to graze, I could later include a regular meal still be eating to live. I did find that Edward and I can split any meal anywhere and both still leave some over. We eat all day, but we don't eat until stuffed.

The harder part of eating to live was in facing the things I didn't have to look at if I was preoccupied with hunting/gathering (at Safeway or Publix) and eating.

  Exercise & Obesity
Exercise and obesity is a matter of black and white.
I lost 150 pounds without exercise. But given all I know now, I would never go about it that way again.

Read Beauty and the Yeast Beast: from Fat to Fairy Tale and find out how you can lose weight without
exercise, too. Then try to work your way from no exercise to daily exercise.

Exercise Weightloss

Inside every obese person is the body of a normal weight person. The skin encasing the body grows as you gain weight. When you lose the weight, you don't lose the skin.

Exercise can help tone muscles and skin as you lose, making it easier when you're done to look the way you want. If you lose a massive amount of weight, the skin can't snap back, and surgery may be required.

Laughter & Obesity

There is humor about fat, weight, obesity, weight loss, and general commentary on society's view of fat all around us.

There are several mock mag covers showing our superheros as superfat.

While shopping for vacation clothes, my husband and I passed a display of bathing suits. It had been at least ten years and twenty pounds since I had even considered buying a bathing suit, so I sought my husband’s advice.

“What do you think?” I asked. “Should I get a bikini or an all-in-one?”

“Better get a bikini,” he replied. “You’d never get it all in one.”

Like most jokes, the truth underneath the humor is, at best, only thinly veiled. A lot of fat humor is aimed at laughing at us.

Humor, whether it be about obesity or anything else, is good for weight loss. It's good for your mood, your commitment, and laughing out loud and hard is good for your muscles, too! Watch a few hours of side splitting silly comedy and call it a workout for your soul!

Mood Swings & Obesity

Mood swings are typically due to sudden changes in blood-sugar levels, affecting the transport of the neurotransmitter seratonin to the brain. One thing you can do to help yourself is to avoid sweet foods and refined white-flour products, which cause sudden rises in blood sugar.

Negative thinking has a very profound detrimental effect on the body. Any type of stress can lead to exhaustion whether or not you have a strong or a weak constitution. Stress will eventually catch up to the most robust constitution.

The social stigma attached to being overweight in our society can certainly contribute to depression,
but there is more to it than that. Fat tissue can act as an endocrine gland, causing significant changes to hormone and blood sugar balance, which can have a major impact on mood. Depression can change
dietary intakes; carbohydrates (especially simple carbohydrates like candy and sugary snacks) help to
increase brain seratonin levels, making people feel better, but at the cost of weight control and yeast
control.

Regular exercise can make a world of difference for the depressed. Even a single 30-minute burst of
exercise has been shown to improve mood and feelings of well-being in depressed individuals. Exercise
helps balance blood sugar levels and relieve stress; it may even raise our seratonin levels.

Read Beauty and the Yeast Beast and find out how to break the yeast / food cycles that make you moody.

    No Exercise Weight Loss
You can lose weight without exercise.

Put on a pair of ankle weights and just move your feet up and down or back and forth as you
watch TV. Leave the weights (ankle and wrist!) on while you clean house.

Achieving weight loss goals or maintaining weight without exercise is much harder than achieving weight loss goals or maintaining weight with exercise. I've done two years of weight loss and antibiotics yo-yo due to redundant skin reduction surgeries. I have to go through long periods of time with no exercise and lots of antibiotics. Whenever you lose weight without exercise, there is muscle loss. The heart is a muscle - and it experiences muscle mass loss when you diet wihtout exercise, too. For this reason alone I suggest you exercise; even moderate exercise - walking, stretchercise - will protect your heart and help keep your muscles from losing mass. Walking also strengthens bones, fighting osteoporososis.

I am not a physician; this program worked for me.
This photo of me was taken in July 2007. I am 56 years old. I want to tell you a good reason to get control of the yeast beast as soon as possible. Growing old is something that you do not want to face in a state of obesity. Growing old in obesity is a miserable existence in waiting rooms and outpaitent clinics.

Lose 125 pounds without exercise; I did.

Obesity is more than a weight problem; there are many aspects to the condition of obesity. I know, because I was obese all my adult life, until 2001, when I got control of the Yeast Beast and lost the weight. I may not be a doctor, but I am a real life success story in the battle for obesity.  From Fat to Fairy Tale

Self Denial & Obesity

Self denial is normally seen as not having something you want: denying yourself. To some extent
most diets rely on a certain amount of this.

But for the obese, the self denial is really self deception; we deny our self to ourselves.

We don't acknowledge our level of fatness. A recent study found that 9 out of 10 people think
that most other Americans are fat, but only 4 out of every 10 think they themselves are overweight.

We don't tell ourselves the truth about how much and how often we eat.

We may have developed coping strategies to maintain this deception which create problems at work or
home. We deny these, too.

The biggest self denial, self deception is that we can't lose weight. I tried for 40 years - oh, I lost a lot of weight a lot of times. But I was convinced I could never get it off and keep it off.

Over 9 years ago I lost 186 pounds and I have kept it off.

Quit deceiving yourself, quit denying yourself. Get Beauty and the Yeast Beast today.

It's hard to feel good about yourself even when you're a size 4 if you have rolls of
redundant (excess) skin that can fit in the clothes but creates bulges in the tummy and rear and legs and arms.....

You can read more about this in my book, Beauty and the Yeast Beast.

Sugar & Obesity

The average American consumes an astounding 2-3 pounds of sugar each week, which is not surprising considering that highly refined sugars in the forms of sucrose (table sugar), dextrose (corn sugar), and high-fructose corn syrup are being processed into so many foods such as bread, breakfast cereal, mayonnaise, peanut butter, ketchup, spaghetti sauce, and prepackages meals and snacks.

The glycemic index is a measure of how a given food affects blood-glucose levels, with each food being assigned a numbered rating. The lower the rating, the slower the absorption and digestion process, which provides a more gradual, healthier infusion of sugars into the bloodstream. A high rating means that blood-glucose levels are increased quickly, which stimulates the pancreas to secrete insulin to drop blood-sugar levels. These rapid fluctuations of blood-sugar levels are not healthy because of the stress they place on the body.

There are 4 classes of simple sugars which are regarded by most nutritionists as harmful to optimal health when prolonged consumption in amounts above 15% of the carbohydrate calories are ingested: Sucrose, fructose, honey, and malts. Although honey is a natural sweetener, it is considered a refined sugar because 96% of dry matter are simple sugars: fructose, glucose and sucrose.

If you have any problem with your weight or yeast infestation, you should avoid sugar in all forms.

The sugar-flour connection is strong. Read how to battle the yeast beast by starving it of flour and sugar for a few weeks in my book, Beauty and the Yeast Beast: from Fat to Fairy Tale and take control.

Sugar & Weight Loss

Researchers have long known that eating refined sugar can provoke short-lived spikes in the body's insulin levels. But in the past two decades, they have learned that certain complex carbohydrates--starchy roots like potatoes and carrots and highly refined foods like white bread, white rice and white pasta--are broken down into simple sugars so rapidly by the body that they can trigger a strong insulin response; these foods have a high glycemic index.

Generally speaking, high levels of insulin inhibit the breakdown of fatty deposits in the body. So, it doesn't take much of a leap to suggest that eating too many of the wrong kinds of carbohydrates leads to too much insulin, which in turn promotes the accumulation of fat, thereby setting up the body for continuous defeat in the battle of the bulge.

In addition, the sugar feeds the over population of yeast inhabiting the overweight and obese, creating additional cravings for sugar; it's a vicious, downward spiral.

Read Beauty and the Yeast Beast and find out how to break the cycle and start losing weight - you can lose weight permanently.

Uncontrolled Obesity

We originally gained weight as a result of getting older, burning less calories, becoming sedentary, and the wrong food intake. After being overweight for some time the body starts to develop insulin resistance. As a result our cells are underfed; we feel hungry so we eat more.

The Body produces more (higher) blood sugar for hours; the body will try to compensate by making more insulin and, secondarily, by making us thirsty to help we drink fluids to release the extra sugar. The additional sugar left over gets turned into fat by the now much higher than normal insulin.

The more fat we put on, the higher our insulin resistance becomes. The higher the insulin resistance, the more our cells are starving, and the hungrier we are, and the more we eat, you producing higher blood sugar levels, resulting in quadrupling the insulin produced. The resulting extremely high insulin then turns an even higher percentage of our excess blood sugar into fat.

This is a downward spiral. Break the spiral and sart losing weight today.

Get Beauty and the Yeast Beast: from Fat to Fairy Tale and end the spiral. Lose the weight you want to lose; lose the weight permanently.

YES! Yeast is keeping you fat!

I know about yeast in the body and weight loss. 40 years of diet failure until I treated the Candida that raged inside of me. The shadows in my picture are 186 pounds more of me than there is today. I recently began an aggressive yeast monitoring program: this is sampling of body fluids and skin surface samples as well as expelled saliva sampling. These test revealed al lot of yeast and molds in my bodily samples. If you are overweight or concerned about Candida I suggest you might try the self analysis test for yeast and molds. Constipation: if you have slow and irregular bowel movements, you are growing yeast in your intestines. The longer your meal sits inside you, the more yeast you grow. The yeast Candida normally resides in the lining of your intestines along with other microbiology, mainly bacteria. When your food sits in your intestines, microbiology invades the mass of undigested food and goes to work. When there is excessive yeast in the intestines, there is more yeast to steal the nutrition from your food.

    The Curse of the Beast
Obesity Rehabilitation is not easy, but you can achieve Obesity Rehabilitation without life threatening Bariatric surgeries as I did. No Sugar, No Starch, and No Flour, an antifungal and a probiotic: you are on your way to weight loss. Now add exercise, and you will shed pounds in a healthy way that will help you mediate the need for, or get you ready for ,the skin surgeries you may require to remove redundant (excess) hanging skin.

Fat To Fairy Tale Weight Loss without life threatening surgeries: I did it in a 14 month period and you can, too. Six years ago, after forty years of battling obesity, I went from a size 26 to a size 4.

Weight Loss Obesity Rehabilitation must address the issues of skin. When you gain excessive weight, your skin grows extra skin to contain the fat being added to your frame. If you lose 100 pounds, or more, or even less, your skin does not have the ability to shrink back to the size required for the normal weight. This excess skin (redundant skin needs) to be removed surgically. In the sequel to Beauty and The Yeast Beast I will go into detail on this issue. For more information, go to Redundant Skin Reduction.

According to the latest study aimed at changing the way doctors fight rising U.S. obesity rates, women who are overweight or obese need to reduce calories and exercise 275 minutes a week or at least 55 minutes a day five days a week to lose weight and keep the pounds off, which means 25 minutes more than the current recommendation of the government.

A slow, sly, insidious parasite, Candida has previously enjoyed anonymity from the medical profession's focus but is now increasingly getting the attention it deserves as a causative agent of systemic infection leading to many serious medical conditions. I feel we need to have a National Candida Awareness Month to bring this to the attention of those who are inflicted and those who care about them.
